People change just like software does, but our changes are more subtle. Software changes based on a series of changelists, which track why and how changes are applied. We, on the other hand, may not even realize why and how we’ve changed unless we have a way to look back on our past selves.
I’m starting this blog to track my own changes. I want to write down new ideas that have inspired me, new skills that I’ve learned, and new experiences that have excited or upset me. These will be my changelists.
I think sharing my changelists will help me in a few ways. First, it will allow me to trace my progress and see whether I’m actually changing for the better. Second, it will help me identify any bugs in my changes that are causing me stress or failure. Third, and most importantly, explaining these new things to you will help me conceptualize them and internalize them.
I’m sharing my changelists here for your review. Maybe you can help me find some bugs, or maybe you’ll find some of them applicable to your own life. Either way, I hope you enjoy reviewing them.
